Overview for Producers, Writers, Dubbers, Voice-Over
Producer
The Producer role is assigned to anyone who will produce the audio content using order instructions and creative assets. They have the following privileges:
- View all production orders they are assigned to
- Add and Edit scripts (same as the Writer role)
- Upload and delete audio files (same as the Voice Talent role)
The Producer has privileges to complete every workflow task require to produce the audio content based on the information provided by an AE in the ORDER tab.
Writer
The role of the Writer can be assigned to anyone who will write scripts. As you might expect, their privileges are limited. They have the following privileges:
- View assigned orders
- Save draft scripts
- Add and Edit scripts
- Submit scripts
Voice-Over (VO)
The role of the VO is unique as it could be a specific role assigned to an individual who will only job is to provide a voice recording or a script that is produced by the producer or it can be a production task assigned to a producer. In some cases, a script may call for several voices for a multi-voice script. In this case, each assigned VO role would receive a VO task for that order.
As you might expect, their privileges are limited. They have the following privileges:
- View assigned orders
- Save VO recording
- Add and Edit voice-over recording files
- Submit recording
Dubber
The role of the Dubber is to confirm that the final recording has been added ("dubbed") to the automation system. The Production Manager, Traffic Manager & Continuity roles can all "perform dubbing" but you may also assign this role to some other appropriate member(s) of your team.
It's important to note that dubbing cannot be performed until the order is complete and a cart number/AD ID has been added to the recording Continuity.
